Laura Mortimer

Commercial Insurance Agent

Laura Mortimer has been in the insurance industry since 2007. She started her career at an independent agency in Fort Collins, Colorado. She went to work for a Farmers Insurance Agency in Loveland, Colorado. In 2022, she came back to the independent insurance world as the commercial insurance agent at Premier Mountain Insurance.

Laura, a lifelong resident of Fort Collins area, got her B.S. in Management and Business Administration from Kaplan. She also has an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Development and spent much of her career working with special needs kids before she found her career in insurance.

Along with being a mother of four, Laura is also a proud grandmother. She has a passion for horseback riding and reading because her father is a retired professor of veterinary medicine. She is a die hard Trekkie and loves anything sci-fi related. She won’t say how many Star Trek conventions she’s been to – but it’s a lot.

Peter Schmisek

Personal Lines Agent

I’m an independent insurance advisor based in Ken Caryl, Colorado, focused on helping high-net-worth families manage risk in ways that are intentional and effective. My clients often have complex coverage needs—multiple homes across different states, luxury properties in wildfire zones, teenage drivers with high-performance vehicles, or multigenerational households. I help them consolidate coverage and design strategies that reflect the reality of those risks while preserving flexibility and long-term value.

As an independent—not captive—agent, I work with a wide panel of carriers, including CHUBB, Safeco (Liberty Mutual), Nationwide, Travelers, Hagerty, American Modern, Stillwater, Berkshire Hathaway, and others. That range allows me to negotiate on both coverage and cost, without having to compromise one for the other. I’m not interested in one-size-fits-all policies—my job is to understand how each client lives, what they care about protecting, and how to make that sustainable over time.

My approach is direct, detail-oriented, and grounded in a deep understanding of what matters most to my clients. I don’t use pressure or gimmicks, and I always prioritize value—even if that means referring someone to a carrier I don’t represent. The goal is clarity: making sure clients know exactly what they’re getting, why it matters, and how it fits into the bigger picture.

David Seagraves

As a native of Colorado, David is proud to service the people of the state out of our office right here in Littleton, Colorado. He enjoys meeting and connecting with new people to see how he might be able to help them with any questions or concerns they might have regarding their insurance needs.

David committed to service. He strives to get to know each and every one of his clients better so that he can give them comprehensive options tailored to their specific needs. He understands that tomorrow will not look the same as today and he wants to make sure that your insurance program changes with each one of life’s changes. Jordan Smith

Jordan Smith is a personal lines insurance agent at Premier Mountain Insurance, based in the Ken Caryl office. He started with Premier Mountain Insurance in early 2025 as a personal lines customer service agent.  In July of 2026 he transitioned into a personal lines insurance agent.  Since entering the insurance industry in 2022, Jordan has gained valuable experience working with multiple carriers in both sales and customer service. This diverse background has given him a well-rounded perspective and a deep understanding of the insurance landscape. His primary goal is to ensure that each client feels valued as more than just a policy number. By taking the time to understand your unique needs, Jordan strives to provide personalized service and demonstrate how your policies work together to protect what matters most.

Originally from Texas, Jordan has called Colorado home since 2021, embracing the beauty and lifestyle of the mountain state, and now lives in Highlands Ranch. Outside of work, Jordan enjoys spending quality time with his wife and son, exploring the great outdoors, and making memories with their pup at local dog parks. A lifelong learner, he seeks personal growth through thought-provoking books, enriching conferences, and engaging with inspiring ideas.

Jordan is also a coffee enthusiast who loves discovering new coffee shops and hidden gems around town. Clare Holder

Lead Personal Lines Customer Service Representative

Clare has over a decade of experience in customer service, sales, and administrative support. Clare joined the team at Premier Mountain Insurance in 2025 as a customer service representative.  As our Lead Personal Lines Customer Service Representative, she is committed to supporting clients with empathy, accuracy, and care. Clare enjoys helping clients feel welcomed and understood while ensuring their service requests and policy needs are handled smoothly and efficiently. She values building lasting relationships through clear communication and dedicated, personalized support, and is committed to making the insurance process as simple and stress-free as possible. Clare lives in Minnesota with her husband and their two cats, and enjoys cooking, crafting, and volunteering at a local bookstore in her free time.

Breanna Royer

Commercial Insurance Customer Service Representative

Breanna, is a Fort Collins native and current resident. She has been a part of the Northern Colorado insurance industry since 2016 and has amassed a great wealth of knowledge in insurance customer service as she achieved the position of Senior Customer Service Specialist with Farmers Insurance before later joining the Premier Mountain Insurance team in 2022.

Maggie Schmisek

Office Assistant

Maggie is one of the longest-tenured team members at Premier Mountain Insurance — she’s been around the business since she was a toddler. From folding newsletters and emptying the trash in the earliest days to addressing birthday cards by age 10, she’s grown up with the agency. Today, Maggie manages the Premier Mountain Insurance mail room, making sure policy documents are sorted and distributed where they need to go.

Maggie is a senior at Mullen High School in Denver, Colorado, where she plays hockey for the Mullen Mustangs, and she also plays hockey for the Colorado 14ers. Outside of Premier Mountain Insurance, she works as a learn-to-skate coaching assistant at the Edge Ice Arena.

Mike Schmisek

Mike Schmisek is the president and founder of Premier Mountain Insurance. Mike started Premier Mountain Insurance in 2019, after 11 years running one of the most successful Farmers Insurance Agencies in Denver, Colorado.  Before his insurance career, Mike had a career in retail management, leading a team of over 100 team members . He was drawn to the insurance industry because of deep relationships that are built with long term clients and his ability to make a difference in the lives of his policy holders.

In 2008, Mike started the Mike Schmisek Insurance Agency. Mike’s dream of an insurance agency dedicated to the client proved to be a winning idea. His agency earned many awards and distinctions for the quality of business as well as the rapid growth of the agency.  Mike’s success in the insurance industry created so many requests for training and speaking that he helped form a company, the Social Heroes, who train insurance agents on growing their businesses online.  In October 2019, Mike started an independent insurance agency, Premier Mountain Insurance.

Today, Mike’s time is spent working with the rapidly growing team of professionals at Premier Mountain Insurance, working with our carrier partners and creating and executing the vision for the agency.  Although Mike is no longer working directly with new clients, he is closely involved in the day to day operations of the agency and has personally trained all the agents at Premier Mountain Insurance.
