Hail damage in Colorado was up in 2021 compared with 2020 and that means more insurance claims for repairing or replacing roofs.
If you believe your home may have hail damage that warrants repair or replacement, you should proceed with care. For beginners, I recommend you contact my office for a referral to a qualified-roofer.
Choosing the wrong roofing contractor can be an expensive mistake. And if there’s not enough damage or the damage is from wear and tear, not hail, it’s better for you to keep that off your claims record.
Why? Insurance companies report claims to the CLUE report. All insurance companies have access to the CLUE report. If you have more than two claims in a 60-month period, many companies will refuse to insure your or charge you higher rates.
That’s one reason choosing the wrong roofer can be so expensive. A bad roofer’s poor workmanship may not show up right away but can result in the need for repairs or replacement long before should be necessary. That can result in a bad rating on the CLUE report.
