A sewer line break on your property can easily cost upwards of $10,000, or even more to repair.  For years this was simply a maintenance issue and insurance companies did not cover this type of wear and tear and maintenance.

So, I’m pleased to announce that many of the carriers that we represent started offering Service Line coverage to protect you against this kind of loss on your property. It’s affordable coverage and the deductible is oftentimes only $500, regardless of your home deductible.

This new endorsement covers:

  • Wear and tear.
  • Rust or other corrosion, decay, deterioration and hidden or latent defects.
  • Collapse not resulting from a sink hole.
  • Electrical and mechanical or pressure system breakdowns.

We pay the cost of excavation needed to repair or replace your sewer line plus we cover the cost of any interruption to the use of your property incurred during the repair or replacement.

Older homes and homes with large trees are particularly prone to this type of damage. And sewer line inspections have become much more common as part of the home inspections at the time a property is sold.

This kind of coverage is typically NOT offered by most insurance companies I’m excited that we are now able to offer it.
