One of our own is on the roster, and the team plays four miles from our front door
LITTLETON, Colo., September 5, 2026 – Premier Mountain Insurance, an independent insurance agency in Littleton, has signed on as a Peak sponsor of the Colorado 14ers 19U AA girls hockey team for the 2026-27 season.
The team’s home rink is the Edge Ice Arena at 6623 S. Ward St., a few minutes from the agency’s office on Shaffer Parkway. One of the players is also on the payroll: Maggie Schmisek, the agency’s office assistant and a senior at Mullen High School, skates for the 14ers.
At the Peak level, the agency’s logo goes on the players’ helmets and on the team’s Facebook banner for the season, with sponsor recognition during games streamed on the team’s YouTube channel and features across the 14ers social channels. Premier Mountain Insurance will also be the game sponsor at an upcoming 14ers game, with the date to be announced by the team.
The Colorado 14ers are the girls’ side of the Littleton Hockey Association, serving female players from across the Denver metro area from 8U through 19U. The 19U AA team competes in the Western Girls Hockey League, which means travel to showcases out of state on top of ice time, coaching, and equipment. Sponsorship money goes straight against those team fees, and every dollar the team raises is a dollar that does not come out of a family’s pocket.
“We looked at a lot of ways to put money back into this community, and this one was easy,” said Mike Schmisek, founder of Premier Mountain Insurance. “These are our neighbors’ kids, playing at our rink, in the town where we live and work. A 19U season is the last one a lot of these players will ever skate. It ought to be a good one.”
“Where we give is one of the few things a business gets to decide entirely on its own, and being independent means that decision gets made here,” Schmisek said. “There is no corporate giving committee in another state weighing whether a Littleton girls hockey team clears the bar. We saw the need, we know the rink, and we said yes.”
